no major modifications should ever be needed, occasionally a sled will need to

sleds are tough! We have had them strength tested down to -22° C for
several hours, then thrown 6 times against a brick wall. The throwing arm
wore out before the sled broke. The same sled was then stood on by a 200
lb man for approximately 4 min before the sled started to yield. While we
don’t advise putting your sled through all of these types of conditions, it’s a
testament to the print quality and design of Brimstone models.
in mind that some models are not as durable as others, but no sled would be put
through those rigors under ordinary use. If you do test out a Brimstone
sled in unusual means, let us know and take video!
use only Hatchbox filament because not all filament is made the same.
Some manufacturers use additional fillers that weaken the filament and
change the print quality. We also alter our infill percentage based on
the transparency of a filament. We make the strongest components by
using the best filament, designs and print conditions.
filaments are by their very nature, not as durable as opaque colors. We
compensate for as much of the difference as possible by increasing the amount
of filament put into a model. The additional filament fills in more of
the pores, creating a denser model but does not allow as much clarity.
1 sleds are designed to have the contacts installed from underneath the sled.
Version 2 are top-mounted designs. Both models are durable, we
carry both so you can opt for whichever suits you best.
